Ventana244 Art Gallery is pleased to present ”Demonstration” a group show which investigates public and private dialogue-from the most mundane pronouncements to more earnest soul searching. Very accessible structures become common surfaces and spaces for various narratives. The exhibition is a “demonstration” to show how the visible can take many forms in the act of communication. But also, a “demonstration” in that these artists reject common methods of art making to target a more direct experience. Interestingly, these artists generate contradictions between the simple physical orientation and the subtle, complex words written, or thoughts implied. Inversely, the artists go through a lot of effort and materiality to make their point. This effort leads one to say that “Demonstration” is about the thought and the making, but more importantly, a meditation on the two.
